1. About CounselCA
CounselCA is an information directory connecting the public with Canadian legal professionals. CounselCA is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
2. Directory listings
Lawyer profiles are subject to verification against provincial law society records. CounselCA may approve, reject, suspend, or remove listings at its discretion. Listing on CounselCA does not constitute an endorsement.
3. User accounts
Lawyers are responsible for maintaining accurate profile information. You must not misrepresent credentials, practice areas, or availability.
4. Consultation requests & referrals
Submitting a consultation request or referral shares your contact information with the receiving lawyer. CounselCA is not party to any engagement formed between clients and lawyers.
5. Reviews
Client reviews are moderated. You agree not to submit false, defamatory, or paid reviews. CounselCA may remove reviews that violate these terms.
6. Membership & billing
Paid membership tiers are billed through Stripe. Subscription terms are governed by Stripe's billing policies in addition to these terms. You may cancel via the billing portal.
7. Limitation of liability
CounselCA is provided "as is." We are not liable for outcomes of legal engagements, directory accuracy beyond reasonable verification efforts, or third-party services.
