We collect information you provide directly: account details, lawyer profile data, consultation requests, reviews, and referral information. We also collect usage data such as profile views and search activity.

2. How we use information

• Operate the directory and display lawyer profiles
• Deliver consultation requests and referrals to lawyers
• Verify credentials and moderate content
• Process membership payments via Stripe
• Send transactional emails (confirmations, lead alerts, referrals)

3. Information sharing

Consultation and referral submissions are shared with the relevant lawyer. We use Supabase for database hosting, Stripe for payments, and Resend for email delivery. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Data retention

Account and profile data is retained while your listing is active. Consultation requests are retained for lawyer record-keeping. You may request account deletion by contacting us.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, row-level database security, and authenticated access for lawyer and admin accounts.

6. Your rights

Under applicable Canadian privacy law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information. Contact privacy@counselca.com.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication and session management. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
